New labour and employment section in OBAOld labour relations section renamed and expanded to include more employment lawyersBy Jeffrey R. Smith05/07/2008|Canadian Employment Law Today The Labour Relations Section of the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) has a new name to reflect a broader scope. The OBA announced April 18 the section would be renamed the Labour and Employment Law Section. The makeup of the section will also change. Two new officer positions, vice-chair (labour) and vice-chair (employment), have been created to assist the chair and work with labour and employment practitioners. The changes were the result of discussions between members of the section’s executive and employment lawyers who weren’t members of the old section.
